With any big purchase, it’s important to understand the care and maintenance required. This allows you to make better-informed decisions while also helping you to prolong the product’s lifespan. Even if the product you’re interested in is relatively low maintenance, you’ll still want to know for good practice. Window film offers a great option for numerous reasons, providing a ton of residential and commercial benefits. This is a wonderful alternative because it’s affordable and provides lower maintenance needs. In order to optimize your window film’s performance and lifespan, you’ll want to practice the following care tips for Los Angeles properties.
Leading Maintenance and Care Recommendations for Your Window Film
When your window film is first installed, the most important thing is to not clean or touch it for 30 days. This month’s time is required in order for it to properly cure and adhere to your windows. You can clean the outside of your windows but don’t touch the inside of your windows where the film is installed – doing so may result in a required replacement. Bubbles are perfectly normal and shouldn’t be popped since it can compromise the structural integrity. After the 30 days, you’re free to clean your windows as much as possible. Window film is less porous than glass so it won’t require cleaning as often. Always use a soft, non-abrasive cloth with mild detergent or cleaner. Never use anything abrasive. You can add silicone polish if you’re looking for sparkling clarity but this isn’t required.
